But, if you wish to go directly to the house as soon as you leave the vault, look for the hidden rock safe to the left as you exit the vault. (See image below) Grab the key and note out of it. This will complete stage 1 and activate stage 2 of the quest. From here, the quickest easiest thing to do is press the ~ key and type in coc chekovs and hit Enter. This will teleport you directly into the interior of the house. Exit the house either by the hatch in the floor in the armory, or by the main door downstairs and walk around the balcony until you activate the map marker in your pipboy.
