This page will serve as the main documentation page for the mod - a FAQ of sorts. It will be updated as issues arise. Hopefully, there won't be many if any at all. It is a pretty simple, cut & dry mod, really. If you have a question not covered here or in the READ ME, please drop me a line on my Nexus page or my Bethesda Forum page for this mod.

Does this mod conflict with other mods?
The only mod that Chekov's Place would conflict with that I'm aware of would be any mod that changes or uses the Inaccessible Door on the West side of Tenpenny Tower. (See image below.) The entrance to the armory is a ladder going to the level above the balcony of the tower, and the Inaccessible door on that side was not affected by this mod. Likewise for the Vanilla player suite you get for blowing up Megaton and of course, Tenpenny's Suite was not affected in any way.

How does the sorter work?
Basically, it removes the items from your inventory and places a new item of the same type in the container it is scripted to go to. As mentioned in the READ ME, it will place a fully "repaired" version of any Armor, Apparel or Weapon you sort to their container. So, if you feel that is a cheat (and I do at times) you should not sort your Armor, Apparel or Weapons with the sorter, but put them in manually. Since all the other items such as chems, ammo, parts etc. do not have a condition applied to them they are fine to sort.

I set this sorter up the way I like to keep stuff sorted. I cannot set it up for everyone else's' system and I did not want to go through the trouble of making a container for each weapon or type of clothing or armor in the game because I wouldn't use it that way in the first place. My system makes perfect, logical sense when you understand how I set it up. I hope you like and use it. It REALLY saves a LOT of time!

What locker/container did it put my items in?
See images below for that answer! (NOTE: There is a "Collectables" safe under the counter directly 180 degrees around from this picture. I set it up to hold "Collectable" items such as Pre War Money, Skill Books, Nuka trucks, Gnomes etc. that I like to collect as I go along.)

Where did my parts go, and how does that sorter work?
The parts toolboxes are in placed alphabetical order. Parts can be sorted by either terminal, but can only be retrieved by the terminal above the Workbench pictured below. When I get ready to make my weapons, I simply go to the terminal and hit the option to get all parts. I, then make all the weapons I can make that I have parts and schematics for. When I can no longer make any more weapons I simply hit sort all parts and it will remove and store all of the parts you have left in one click! Easy peasy!

Can I use the guns on display?
Well, you could, but why would you? I have placed every vanilla, non-unique weapon in the game in the footlockers under the bunks, so I would use them instead. There are PLENTY stored for you there, I made sure of that! The guns in the armory can be picked up without any big issues, but DO NOT take the guns hanging on the wall in the Museum. If you disturb them you will likely end up with guns raining down in front of you, lol. So, be careful setting items on the display stands around these guns.

Other havoc/collision issues.
Just like the guns I mentioned above, the Holotapes on the shelf to the right of the TV, and the miniatures making up the chessboard should be left alone too. Mess with them at your own peril! You will likely end up with a mess. Also, if you or an NPC take any food, liquor, cups, plates etc. from the diner, you will get a mess there too. All of these havoc/collision or the "mousetrap" effect are known issues with the game engine that we all have to work around. If it gets disturbed, just pick up all the stuff, and re-clutter it how you wish. You can get some stuff back on most of the shelves.

Are there any other bugs or anomolies?
Not really, no. But I did notice a time or two while testing that every now and then the vanilla followers would walk through thin air! I saw Clover and Jericho both walk like they were going to go down the stairs, but keep going straight ahead through the air. The inched along for a few feet and the game engine must have realised there were not in the correct position and they dropped down to the floor below, lol. This only happened 2 times and I have not been able to duplecate it again, lol.

Also, sometimes followers get off their sandbox package and just stand there. You can try waiting for an hour at a time for a couple of hours, or you can quick save, exit and reload and most of the time they will get back on their package.

P-51 Mustang - The Vault documents a known bug with the plane where, "On rare occasion the body of the plane has been known to fall off the wings and the wings dangle by the chains holding them up. Unknown why this occured." So there is nothing I can do about that. I recommend using quick save regularly, or installing Cipscis' Automatic Save Manager. It helps these little bugs immensely!

Does this mod include a "sandbox" package?
No. I did have one included at one time, but I changed it back to the vanilla wait package. I do not want my mod to conflict with others and I felt that many of the overhaul type mods have their own sandbox settings already. So in an attempt to assure compatibality I left mine out. If you're not using anything for your vanilla followers sandbox feature, I recomend the "Followers Relax" mod for vanilla followers.

What other mods do you use or recomend?
I'm glad you asked! See my Recomended Mods page.
