The Hidden Bunker

WARNING - MINOR SPOILERS BELOW!!!

I wanted to reward the player who completed the quest with something nice, so I decided to give them a bunker they could use as they saw fit. I didn't want anything really elaborate, but just a simple hideout. I imagined the bunker as a sort of "spider hole" where the CO could go when the shit really hit the fan. Obliviously, it did as the bunker has sat unused for all these years.

During the WIP phase of this mod, several insightful players contributed to the thread I started and offered quite a few really good suggestions for rewards. One of them was to give the player a nice perk upon completion of the quest, and I felt that was a fantastic idea. However, as I began adding the perk, I discovered that doing so would cause problems for players who decided to play the quest, receive the perk, but then later remove the mod from their game. I didn't want any headaches for them (or myself!) so I decided on the compromise of adding the perk to a suit of custom armor instead. This way, all players have a choice whether to take advantage of the perk or not. I was happy with this decision as I know there are many minimalist type folks out there who don't like having certain types of perks forced upon them. I felt this would also offer those folks a choice as well. Not everyone plays like I do and likes the things I like, so I tried really, really hard to come up with something that would hopefully fit into everyone's playing style.

The Badass Combat Armor is nothing special really. I just used the Rivet City security Armor as the model and changed the stats for my custom version of it. The armor will provide the following bonus:

Endurance +1
Critical Chance +5
Carryweight +50lbs (The armor weighs 20 lbs so you net 30 more lbs carryweight.)
Damage Resistance = 40

Overall, it's not too different from the Ranger Battle Armor (with different stats) so I didn't really feel it was overpowered.

The Badass Combat Helmet adds the following bonus:

Perception +1
Explosives +5

So, you can see, I have not really added any godlike items, but just another option for the player to use or not use as they see fit.

The bunker itself has a few weapons lying around, along with some ammo and meds. It has a cot to sleep on and a workbench and radio. I did not really want to pack it full of stuff, but just a little token thank you for players who played my mod! Check out the pics below!
